What is Ikigai?
Ikigai (ee-kee-guy) means "Purpose" in Japanese, and our purpose is bold: to build a world-class anime-inspired destination that feels like it belongs to Maryland. We’re not just recreating the big-box theme park model but weaving anime storytelling, cultural heritage, and community pride into every park corner.
We’re also reimagining how technology and storytelling merge. Through partnerships in AI, AR, and VR, Ikigai Park will be the country's first anime-inspired destination where fans don’t just watch the story, they live it!
Ikigai Park isn’t rising out of nowhere—it’s being built on familiar ground. Our proposed home is the former Six Flags America site in Prince George’s County, Maryland, a place locals already know and love. Instead of letting that land sit empty, we’re giving it a new life: a reborn destination that keeps the thrill but adds something deeper—anime culture, creativity, and community pride.

This isn’t a copy-paste idea. It’s a first-of-its-kind blend:
-
A theme park inspired by the worlds we’ve only seen in anime and manga.
-
A water park that feels like stepping into a summer festival episode.
-
An expo center designed to rival the biggest anime conventions—without leaving the DMV.
-
A hotel and atrium that connect it all, making the property a year-round hub.
Master Plan at a Glance
Ikigai Park is more than a theme park; it’s a multi-phase business ecosystem designed to maximize revenue through both seasonal attractions and year-round anchors.

-
Theme Park & Attractions: Immersive lands like Neo-Tokyo Mecha District and Isekai Realms anchor the brand with scalable ride capacity, strong merchandising opportunities, and high repeat visitation potential.
-
Sakura Falls Waterpark (Seasonal): A signature water park experience built around a glowing, lotus-canopy waterfall tower with slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers. Seasonal operation (summer-focused) maximizes attendance during peak demand and complements the park’s year-round offerings.
-
Nexus Expo Center (800,000+ sq ft): One of the largest convention halls on the East Coast, driving non-seasonal revenue through anime conventions, esports tournaments, trade shows, and corporate rentals.
-
Grand Akari Hotel (500+ rooms): A themed luxury resort that supports year-round visitation, capturing guests through integrated lodging, dining, and convention packages.
-
Starlight Market (Retail & Dining): A cultural hub with food stalls, anime cafés, and global street cuisine maximizing per-capita spending across both day guests and overnight visitors.
Location Advantage:
Ikigai Park is proposed for the former Six Flags America site in Prince George’s County, Maryland. This site provides existing infrastructure, access to a 10M+ metro population (DC/Baltimore), and strong regional tourism reducing startup risk and accelerating timelines.
PHASED DEVELOPMENT PLAN
1
Pre-Dev & Site Control
Secure land agreements, feasibility studies, and early licensing conversations. Investors enter at lowest valuation point, de-risked by community crowdfunding validation.
2
Design & Prototyping
Architectural plans, attraction mock-ups, and pilot events. This phase allows early monetization through ticketed previews, branded partnerships, and limited expos while laying groundwork for the Nexus Complex.
3
Build & Launch
Phased attraction launches ensure cash flow during construction. Anchor assets (Expo Center, Hotel, Arena) open first, generating convention, hospitality, and event revenue before full park expansion.
